POLLUTION PREVENTION PLANNING (P3)

Pollution Prevention Planning (P3)

Pollution Prevention (P2), which includes waste minimization, sustainability, and “going green”. If your facility completed a five year P2 reporting cycle in 2020, you must go through the planning process again to develop a new 5- year P2 Plan, it is our professional experience that a P2 Plan can help your facility handle waste properly and reduce overall plant costs.

Whitehead E. S. can assist with the development of a P2 Plan (sometime referred to as P3). In many cases, an outside professional can provide “fresh eyes” to your waste handling and disposal procedure and find ways to improve your facilities operations and reduce overall costs for handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.

In most cases, the small cost of a P2 Plan can provide significant long-term savings and reduced regulatory compliance. For example, going from a Large Quantity Generator (LQG) to a Small Quantity Generator (SQG) and even a Conditionally Exempt SQG (CESQG) has significantly less regulatory requirements and costs.

In Texas, a Pollution Prevention Plan is required for Large Quantity Generators, Small Quantity Generators and/or Toxic Release Inventory Form R reporters per 30 TAC 335 Subchapter Q regulations.

Pollution Prevention services currently provided by Whitehead E. S. include:

  •  Conduct a P2 Inspection and Prepare P2 Plan to meet TCEQ regulations
  •  Assist in identification of pollution prevention and energy conservation strategies
  •  Conduct employee training to implement the P2 Plan
