The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Environmental Scientist with 2-5 years of experience in a consulting environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate professional who is eager to accelerate their career by taking on diverse responsibilities and challenging projects. You will be an integral part of our team, working on Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulated sites, with a focus on the Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) and Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field activities, including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling, drilling oversight, and site characterization.
- Prepare technical reports, including Site Assessment Reports, Remedial Action Plans, and Closure Reports under TRRP and PST regulations.
- Assist with and gradually take on project management tasks, including budget tracking, scheduling, and client communication.
- Analyze environmental data and develop conceptual site models.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with senior staff, regulators, and clients to achieve project objectives efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Soil Science, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience within an environmental consulting firm.
- Direct hands-on experience with TCEQ TRRP and Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) projects is required.
- Proven experience in field work (e.g., drilling, sampling) and technical report writing.
- Exposure to project management tasks (e.g., task management, budget awareness) is a strong plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be ambitious, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
